5 August 2008 – 7 December 2008 Vincent van Gogh - "Drawn" PicturesThe Albertina's big autumn exhibition in 2008 will be devoted to the work of Vincent Van Gogh. Some 50 paintings and 120 drawings will be shown, including masterpieces such as "The Harvest" (1888) from the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam and "View of Vessenots Near Auvers" (1890) from the Museo Thyssen-Bornemisza in Madrid. The exhibition will be concerned with the two-way relationship between Van Gogh's drawings and paintings, focusing particularly on the last creative years of his time in Paris and Arles up to his stays in Saint-Rémy and Auvers-sur-Oise.Opening HoursMonday-Sunday 10 a.m. - 6 p.m., Wednesday till 9 p.m.Description of the MuseumThe Albertina accommodates one of the largest and most precious graphic art collections in the world. There are drawings and prints dating from all major epochs, ranging from late gothic to contemporanean art. |
