Eva & Adele

The pair of artists EVA & ADELE has achieved international recognition with their performances at exhibitions, vernissages and art events. In addition to their performances they create photographies, videos, drawings and paintings, which are based on a complex concept. EVA & ADELE regard themselves as a living exhibit, and thus they automatically turn every place they stay at into a “museum”. “Wherever we are is Museum“ is one of the titles of their concept.
The exhibition at the Rupertinum presents the early video films of their first journey together in 1989. The result is a poetic document of self-discovery and identity. Also on display are large tableaus of a selection of the polaroid portraits they take of themselves every single day and of which they have collected several thousand. In addition, the Lentos Art Museum in Linz organises an exhibition of drawings and paintings made by EVA & ADELE in recent years.
The exhibitions are organised in close cooperation with the artists and accompanied by a comprehensive book published by DuMont.

Description of the Museum

The Museum der Moderne has two buildings: The Rupertinum in the old part of the city and the Museum der Moderne on the Mönchsberg.
