Sound of Art. - Les Grands Spectacles III. Sound of Art

The third part of the exhibition series „Les Grands Spectacles” deals with the interrelations between visual arts and music.
Since the end of the 19th century the relations and as a result the crossovers between different artistic genres have gradually intensified and are increasingly becoming a matter of course.
Focusing on avantgardism of the early 20th century, such as Futurism, the Fluxus movement of the 1950s and 60s and contemporary art, the exhibition not only visualises the far-reaching development of interrelations between visual and auditory arts, but also shows the rearrangement of the “classical combination” of elements such as skill, instrument, sound, mode and time.

Description of the Museum

The collections of the Museum der Moderne Salzburg Rupertinum are dedicated to painting, sculpture, graphic and photography (focus: art of the 20th century).

A special focus is the communication of art to young visitors.
