11 June 2006 – 1 October 2006 Shiro Matsui: Jonah’s Green. The Mies van der Rohe Insert ProjectWith Jonah’s Green Shiro Matsui is impressively continuing the series of installative interventions that have made a considerable contribution to exhibition history in the Krefeld villas since the sixties. Matsui, born in Nara, Japan in 1960, is one of a younger generation of artists who open up intercultural, historical, scientific and also architectural conditions by taking a site-specific approach. A new space for aesthetic experience will be created in Krefeld, combining Mies van der Rohe's fluent architectural concept with scientific patterns, revealing a sensual, physical perception strategy with an Eastern tinge.AddressMuseum Haus EstersWilhelmshofallee 91 47800 Krefeld phone +49 2151 97 55 80 http://www.krefeld.de/kunstmuseen Opening HoursDaily 11 a.m. - 5 p.m., closed on Monday.
