15 March 2007 – 3 June 2007 Max Peiffer-Watenpuhl - DrawingsMax Peiffer Watenphul (1896 - 1976) is known primarily as a painter of Italian scenes and a master of modern still life. In 1921, during his studies at the Weimar Bauhaus, he visited Italy for the first time and remained closely attached to the country for the rest of his life. The landscape of Southern Italy, in particular, with its palm trees and agava appealed to his soul and found expression in his melancholically serene and timeless paintings.AddressPinakothek der ModerneKunstareal München Barer Strasse 40 80333 München phone +49 89 23 80 53 60 http://www.pinakothek.de Opening HoursDaily 10 a.m. - 6 p.m., Thursday 10 a.m. - 8 p.m., closed on MondayDescription of the MuseumWith four major museums presenting art, works on paper, architecture and design under one roof, the Pinakothek der Moderne is one of the world’s greatest collections of 20th and 21st century art.
