“Portrait of Hermann Hesse”

Drawing contest for primary schools
In occasion of the exhibition “Crossing the boarders” in autumn 2005, a drawing contest for primary schools was organized. The 300 drawings that were handed in will be shown in the following week-ends: February 18, 19, and February 25, 26. For groups and school classes the museum will open with previous booking also on weekdays (February 20 - 24).

Monday-Sunday 10 a.m.- 6 p.m.30 , (November through February opened only on Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m.- 5 p.m. 30).

Description of the Museum

The Museum is dedicated to the German writer Hermann Hesse who lived in Montagnola until his death. The Museum holds precious remanants of the last 43 years of the writers life. The writer, artist and poet lived in Montagnola from 1919 until 1962, the year of his death. He wrote there some of his most important works.
