Valérie Belin - Retrospective

This mid-career retrospective, organized in collaboration with the Maison Européenne de la Photographie in Paris and the Museum Huis Marseille in Amsterdam, presents the work of a French photographer, one of the most talented and highly esteemed artists of her generation. The body and its metamorphoses is the common denominator of the themes dealt with by Valérie Belin. Her subjects occupy a borderline zone between human and virtual realities, between what is organic and what is sublime - an area where identity is anything but simple and straight-forward. Her series of images, presented as photographic sculptures, have a powerful impact. This exhibition will also be shown as part of the programme of the Maison Européenne de la Photographie in Paris from 3 April to 15 June 2008
