Italian Painting - from the Renaissance to the XVIIIth Century

Treasures of the Accademia Carrara in Bergame

During the summer 2008, the Fondation de l’Hermitage is privileged to present the prestigious collection of Italian paintings from the Accademia Carrara in Bergamo, founded in 1796 by Count Giacomo Carrara, collector, patron and connoisseur of the world of arts. Bringing together around a hundred masterpieces from the 15th to the 18th centuries, the exhibition will focus on artists from the schools of Venice (Giovanni Bellini, Carpaccio, Titien, Canaletto), Florence (Botticelli) and Bergamo (Lotto, Baschenis). The exceptional selection will be further enhanced by paintings by other great Renaissance masters such as Pisanello, Fra Angelico or Raphaël.

The exhibition is organized in partnership with the BDG Banque de Dépôt et de Gestion to mark its 75th anniversary.
