Between Two Deaths

Between Two Deaths presents critical-artistic reflection on the political, social and cultural trends towards melancholic retrospection. The effects of these trends may be felt everywhere: in the conservative cultural debates, stagnation, regression, fear, insecurity, lethargy and nostalgia that are spreading on all sides, while boundless pessimism or self-prescribed and state-prescribed optimism appear to be the general motto. The exhibition does not take up a position against this diagnosis, but rather shows positions that maintain a non-affirmative posture towards this situation.

Participating artists, among others: Jutta Koether, Terence Koh, Rita Ackermann, Mark Titchner, Barnaby Furnas, Chloe Piene, Martin Dammann, Marlene McCarthy.
