After numerous exhibitions in Europe, the USA and Asia, the kestnergesellschaft is devoting a first solo exhibition in Germany to the Chinese artist who was born in 1956 in Wuhan, China and who has lived since 1990 in Paris. Confronted with the lack of restraint on the part of Western media, Wang Du developed sculptural works in which current visual patterns which constitute our everyday life are appropriated and commented upon - often in a cynical and provocative manner, but always based on meticulous observations. A catalogue is appearing along with the exhibition.
