25 June 2008 – 21 September 2008 CYCLOPTICALLY. - Rolywholyover, fifth episodeSolo show featuring CHRISTIAN MARCLAY& Displays featuring Mamco collections (Program under development) PHILIPPE RAMETTE, Gardons nos illusions For three decades now the Swiss artist Christian Marclay (1955, San Rafel, California) has explored the links between sounds and the visual arts and notably between performances, concerts, sculptures and installations. Photography is another important aspect of his work. He uses the medium in several ways, as can be seen in his photograms, for example, or his appropriation of found photographs, or his series of shots of street musicians and city landscapes. For his Mamco project, the artist is focusing on this aspect of his work, which has never figured in a show until now. Spread out over seven of the museum’s galleries, the show will bring together a large selection of photographic work with both new and relatively unknown pieces.
