5 September 2007 – 11 February 2008 Jean-Claude de CrousazJean-Claude de Crousaz (born in 1931) has been an essential figure in the Geneva ceramic scene for some fifty years, during which time he has created his own distinctive style : spirited, joyously figurative, and unafraid of being « decorative ». Whether painted or in the round, his animal subjects are particularly emblematic of his art. De Crousaz is not only one of the pioneers of Swiss contemporary ceramics, he is also one of the most popular creators in his field (and in the noblest sense of the term).Opening HoursDaily 10 a.m. - 5 p.m., closed onTuesday. Description of the MuseumThe Ariana Museum contains prestigious collections of ceramics and glass of the City of Geneva. It is the only museum in Switzerland, and among the most important in Europe, devoted entirely to kilncraft. |
