Carmen Dionyse - Figures of silence

The Belgian artist Carmen Dionyse (born 1921) has dedicated herself for more than thirty-five years to representations of the human figure. Imbued with mythology and the history of religions, she shapes human likenesses possessing a captivating, grave and timeless presence. Characters born from rock and sand, prophets or hermits of the desert. Hers is a dense and silent work, the powerful expression of a quest for the ineffable.

Description of the Museum

The Ariana Museum contains prestigious collections of ceramics and glass of the City of Geneva. It is the only museum in Switzerland, and among the most important in Europe, devoted entirely to kilncraft.
