From the beginnings of archaic majolica in the late Middle Ages to the historicist replicas of the 19th century, the exhibition provides the largest possible overview of the main production centres for Italian faience, as documented in the Museum’s archives.

Description of the Museum

The Ariana Museum contains prestigious collections of ceramics and glass of the City of Geneva. It is the only museum in Switzerland, and among the most important in Europe, devoted entirely to kilncraft.
