24 September 2008 – 23 November 2008 Ibon Aranberri: "Disorder"The presentation of the work of Basque artist Ibon Aranberri in a major solo exhibition at Frankfurter Kunstverein concerns itself with the structure of the relationship between nature and politics. As its thematic starting point, the exhibition makes reference to 'The Cave', a project realised in 2003, and closes with 'Exercises on the North Side' and 'Política Hidráulica', from documenta 12. In his installation works Aranberri re-questions and researches, through the use of different media, the connection between nationalistic ideology, science and art in public space. He often uses the cultural history of the Basque Country as a reference point to his work.AddressFrankfurter KunstvereinMarkt 44 60311 Frankfurt am Main phone +49 69 219 31 40 http://www.fkv.de Opening HoursTuesday - Sunday 11a.m. - 7 p.m.Description of the MuseumThe Frankfurter Kunstverein is a major national and international institution for contemporary art in Germany. The Frankfurter Kunstverein is an art centre. Its main goal is to present the viewer with coherently researched exhibitions that are embedded in the present. Our work is mainly based in the development and production of new art works and projects. Hence our aim is to encourage a critical discussion around “contemporary art pro-duction” and we stress the importance of regularly organizing artist talks, debates and lectures in order to create an access point to art and its reasons. |
