Gunter Rambow - Posters.

The exhibition at the Museum für Angewandte Kunst Frankfurt will show Gunter Rambow’s poster series and photo books from 1962 to the present - two genres forming the basis for his internationally prominent role as a graphic designer.

Hardly anyone has had a greater influence on cultural advertising than Gunter Rambow. Taking clear conceptual images as his point of departure, he has created works of visual precision and forcefulness. The motifs he invents and combines in the process are consistently the result of a critical outlook on society, whose accuracy of ethical aim the graphic designer expresses with consummate conciseness. For Gunter Rambow, visual communication is an means which allows the act of viewing to become a symbiosis of affect and understanding.
