SUSIPONG@PONG.MYTHOS

Pong is considered to be the origin of all computer games: the simple but still fascinating game with two bats and a ball, which was produced at the beginning of the seventies by Atari.
Meanwhile, the myth surrounding pong has long since grown up from its historical beginning in the game arcades and has become active in a wider context. The exhibition follows the tracks of this myth, traces of which can be found in industry and in the field of art and also in the area of science. Special historical exhibits of pong-game-consoles and setups designed by twenty international artists are all devoted to the theme of pong. Among the exhibits are unique examples such as the mechanical pong game, a pong for blind people and a “painstation” which can make losing a pong game quite painful.
