16 x Yves Saint Laurent. Neuerwerbungen der Modesammlung

The fashion designer Yves Saint Laurent, who comes from Algeria, is one of the best-known and most influential couturiers of the 20th century. In his over forty-year career he left his mark on numerous trends which permanently influenced the fashion world. The exhibition presents a selection of 16 creations from Yves Saint Laurent's prêt-à-porter collections from the 80s and early 90s. These examples illustrate the designer's different creative phases in which he engaged with a variety of styles and sources of inspiration. Together with the elegant gowns, extravagant trouser suits and occasionally outré combinations the museum is showing for the first time a selection from the large fashion collection donated in 2007 by Ursula Schramm.
